Consumable Produce
- Multi Floral Raw Honey 500g (unfiltered)
We exclusively offer honey sourced from our farm's 14 hives, which are conveniently located nearby. The proximity allows us to maintain regular visits, fostering a harmonious interaction between the bees and humans. As a result, our honeycomb extraction process is peaceful, often without the need for smoke. Embracing the diverse flora surrounding our farm, from Eucalyptus to fynbos and wild flowers, we classify our honey as multi-floral. This variation in flora lends our honey a delightful spectrum of colours, ranging from clear golden to rich dark brown.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Pure Frantoio 750ml
This is pure Extra Virgin Frantoio Olive oil in a 750ml bottle. This is arguably the best quality olive oil available in South Africa. Currently these are still harvested from a farm close to Darling until our trees are ready to produce. We expect to perform our first harvest in 2025 and we are super excited about it!
- Kalamata Olives 2022 500g (drained weight)
Sourced from a farm located just outside Riebeeck West, these Olives undergo a unique harvesting process. Kalamata olives, renowned for their exquisite taste, demand hand-picking to maintain the fragile integrity of the fruit. Our preserved Kalamata olives stand out for their exceptional quality, owing to the exclusive use of whole ingredients. The remarkable difference in flavor is truly unparalleled, making our version a truly extraordinary culinary experience.
- Raw Sauerkraut
This Sauerkraut is made to order and takes about 3 weeks to complete. Store-bought sauerkraut is pasteurized and lacks all the goodness that makes it a super food. Because our one is raw it continuous to ferment, but by putting in into the fridge the process almost ceases. If you store this Sauerkraut below 5°C it can easily be stored over a year.
- Green Coffee Beans - 1kg
The unparalleled richness of freshly roasted coffee beans is truly unmatched. It's a widely acknowledged fact that coffee beans lose their freshness within 7-11 days after roasting, often leaving us unknowingly sipping on stale brews. Faced with the challenge of sourcing green beans, which are not only hard to find but also more expensive than their roasted counterparts, we embarked on a quest to secure our own supplier. Our search led us to an importer from Brazil, a country renowned for its coffee expertise. As is customary, we purchase these beans in bulk, so you don't have to. These beans are also accompanied by an SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) quality rating, ensuring their exceptional caliber. For a list of currently available beans, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
- Sourdough Starter
This strain comes from Italy and is apparently over 100 years old. I don't know about that, but I do know that it is a very strong strain that makes amazing bread. This starter is desiccated and vacuum sealed with an oxygen absorber. If remained sealed and stored in a cool dark place it can last indefinitely. We supply it with an easy recipe for those who don't have time to go through the whole sourdough process.
Personal Care
- Olive and Coconut Oil Soap 110g
Our vegan-friendly soap follows the same time-honored method as our lard soap, with one notable distinction: it incorporates plant fats instead of animal fats. This soap is renowned for its exceptionally gentle texture, surpassing even our lard soap. To enhance its benefits, we have included Tea tree oil, known for its proven antibacterial and antifungal properties. Please note that due to the specialized raw ingredients, this soap incurs higher production costs. **This particular recipe has to cure for at least 6 weeks before it can be packaged.
- Lip Butter 6g
All of our ingredients are completely natural and pronounceable. Because it is lip butter and we do not use stabilizers, it has a low melting point of about 40°C. We supply them in hot fill containers, so they do not leak, but it is still advisable to keep them away from direct sunlight, and not to keep them in your car. It contains Bees wax, Coconut oil, Cocoa butter, Shea butter and essential oils.
- Lard Soap (Boerseep) 110g
Commonly referred to as "boerseep" in South Africa, this soap is meticulously crafted from a blend of Lard, Lye, and water. Traditionally, we were not avid fans of this soap due to its inherent hardness, lack of lather, and tendency to dry out the skin. As personal hygiene plays a vital role in our lifestyle, we became increasingly curious about the unpronounceable ingredients present in commercially available soaps. Consequently, we embarked on a quest to discover the ideal soap recipe. Through persistent experimentation, we achieved the perfect balance between these three components. While it may sound simple, the process is actually quite scientific. Adding excessive lard results in a greasy soap, while an excess of lye leads to skin dryness. We have fine-tuned this recipe to perfection, consistently producing a soap that offers a smooth, soft lather and complements the skin exquisitely. If you are dealing with any skin conditions, we wholeheartedly encourage you to give our soap the opportunity to showcase its remarkable qualities. **This soap has to cure for at least 3 weeks and that is probably the reason why the big boys don’t make soap using this process anymore.
